Andrew is not your typical lawyer. Over the years, he’s channelled his drive for helping others into a diverse background spanning an Honours in Social Work, specialisation in personal injury and commercial litigation (in 2003), specialisation in Family Law (from 2004), and branching out in 2022 to also prepare Family Reports.

Before founding Lander Solicitors Queensland in 2015, Andrew was employed as a family law solicitor in leading Brisbane firms, a joint director in a renowned Gold Coast family law firm, and a senior solicitor in Erina, New South Wales.

Since 2015, he has been a key figure on the rostered panel of lawyers providing domestic violence duty lawyer services to both aggrieved and respondents in Maroochydore. In 2022, he expanded this commitment to Magistrates Courts in Redcliffe, Pine Rivers, Caboolture, Richlands, and Ipswich. During this time, he has helped hundreds of parties with legal advice and representation in domestic violence matters.

This, coupled with his personal experience of separation and co-parenting and 20+ years of working in family law brings a unique blend of expertise to the table.

Andrew’s expertise is further enriched by his long-standing membership on the Queensland Law Society Family Law Committee, where he has served for five years. Andrew adeptly handles complex property settlement and parenting matters, representing clients in both privately funded and legally aided cases.

This makes Andrew a seasoned professional with incredible depth and breadth of experience and insights into the workings of our family law legal system. This is not common for a family law practice and is the knowledge and experience that Andrew uses to fight for what is fair and equitable for his clients. He is not afraid to tackle challenging cases head-on and can often secure outcomes where other lawyers haven’t been able to. This has included winning a number of appeal cases.

Jill, Andrew’s wife and a seasoned social worker, blends compassion with expertise. At the core of Jill’s career is her passion for helping children and families.

With a Bachelor of Social Work from James Cook University, she has been dedicated to the field since 1991.

Jill’s diverse background includes impactful roles as a Child Safety Officer in both Brisbane and London, along with notable work in disability services and government policy development. Her proficiency extends to the courtroom, where she has confidently given evidence, including in London’s High Court.

Over the years, Jill has finely honed her assessment and report writing skills, helping hundreds of families along the way.

Malcolm’s expertise spans across top-tier litigation, particularly in taxation and industrial relations.

His commitment to justice is evident in his role as a criminal defence lawyer at the Shopfront Youth Legal Centre in Sydney, where he represented the rights of homeless and disadvantaged youth.

With a rich history as a Queensland Law Society accredited family law specialist and later as a barrister, Malcolm thrives in the courtroom environment.
